200g dark chocolate bits

140g thin bacon rashers cooked and chopped to 1 cm squares + 1 extra bacon rasher to serve

2 eggs

1 cup butter

1 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar

1.5 cups plain flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/3 cup cocoa powder

2 tbsp Bull's-Eye Original BBQ sauce

1 tbsp for basting bacon + extra for serving of Bull's-Eye Original BBQ sauce

I’ve taken my classic chocolate brownie recipe and added a savoury BBQ twist with my secret weapon for the #BullsEyeChallenge! These brownies are decadent with just the right amount of saltiness. Surprise the chocolate loving carnivore in your life, make them my BBQ Bacon Brownies.

METHOD
1.
Cook bacon rashers on a BBQ or in a fry pan and baste with Bull's-Eye Original BBQ sauce as they sizzle. Set aside for when needed.
2.
Preheat the oven to 160c (320F). Lightly grease and line a 20x30cm baking tin.
3.
In a saucepan, melt butter and sugar. Cool for 5 minutes. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cocoa, eggs, chocolate bits, bacon and Bull's-Eye Original BBQ sauce. Then add the sugar/butter mixture.
4.
Add the mixture into the prepared baking tin and smooth out the top. Bake for about 30 minutes or until an inserted skewer comes out nearly clean.
5.
Remove the bacon brownies from the oven and allow to cool. Cut into squares and serve with ½ tsp of Bull's-Eye Original BBQ sauce on each and one square of bacon.
